At Maryland Avian & Exotic Veterinary Care, we offer consultation visits for you and your exotic pet. This visit includes a complete physical examination, nutritional counseling, housing information and recommendations, environmental enrichment, disease screening and laboratory testing if necessary. We will take the time to make sure you understand your exotic pet’s individual needs.
Education is a key component of your consultation visit with us. Most exotic pet illnesses can be prevented with proper nutrition and housing. We also want to make sure you know what symptoms to look for if your exotic pet were to become ill so that you can bring your pet to us early. Many times the signs of illness are very subtle, such as less social interaction or more sleeping or hiding. We take the time to answer all of your questions so that you are fully informed about the specific needs of your exotic pet.
A good time to schedule a consultation visit with us is immediately after you have brought your new exotic pet home. We can get you and your pet started on the right path to a happy and healthy life together. We will examine your pet to be sure your pet is healthy and make sure your home care is set up properly.
